Mooresville police officer discovers meth materials in car

A Mooresville Police officer discovered what he believed to be materials for making methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Monday afternoon, police said.

At 12:05 p.m., the officer stopped a vehicle displaying a revoked registration plate in the 500 block of River Highway, police said.

He discovered materials that he believed to be consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine while conducting the traffic stop, police said.

Mooresville Fire-Rescue, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Bureau of Investigation were called to assist.

The investigation has been turned over to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, police said.
