Rowan drug roundup nets 9 suspects

Rowan County authorities say an investigation into the sale of prescription drugs has netted nine arrests.

The arrests took place over a four-day stretch last week, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects sold drugs to agents between December and March, authorities said.

Most of the drugs were opium-based, according to investigators. The arrests of Bobby Edward Gouldman and Glenda Gail Deese were announced late last week.

On Friday, agents also arrested Jammie Lynn Brown, Sandra Nicole Ellis, Cindy Michelle Self, Tammy Klock Stanley and Terrie Irene Vorrosso. On Saturday, Michael Wayne Brooker was arrested.

Michael Shunta Bost was already in prison on unrelated charges

The details, according to deputies:

• Michael Shunta Bost, 33, Salisbury, was charged with selling crack cocaine.
• Michael Wayne Brooker, 26, Salisbury, was charged with two counts each of sale or deliver a controlled substance and possess with intent to sell, deliver or manufacture a controlled substance. Brooker sold three grams of crack cocaine to agents, the sheriff’s office said. Brooker was jailed under $10,000 bond.
• Jammie Lynn Brown, 22, Granite Quarry, was charged with one count of sale or deliver a controlled substance and two counts of possess with intent to sell, deliver or manufacture a controlled substance. Investigators said Brown sold 23 dosage units of alprazolam (Xanax). Brown was jailed under $10,000 bond.
• Glenda Gail Deese, 53, Kannapolis, was charged with 10 counts of trafficking opium/heroin. She is accused of selling 15 doses of oxycodone and 38 doses of hydrocodone to agents. She was jailed under $250,000 bond.
• Sandra Nicole Ellis, 27, Spencer, was charged with three counts of trafficking opium/heroin, three counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance, and three counts of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for the sale or delivery. She sold 127 units of hydrocodone to agents, authorities said. She was jailed under $250,000 bond.
• Bobby Edward Gouldman, 55, Kannapolis, was charged with two counts of selling or delivering a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance, and two counts of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for the sale or delivery. He sold 80 diazepam tablets to agents, authorities said. He was jailed under $10,000 bond.
• Cindy Michelle Self, 40, Salisbury, was charged with trafficking opium/heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance. She sold 35 units of oxycodone to agents, police said. She was jailed under $50,000 bond.
• Tammy Klock Stanley, 45, Granite Quarry, was charged with two counts each of sale or deliver a controlled substance, possess with intent to sell, deliver or manufacture a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle. Stanley sold 70 dosage units of alprazolam (Xanax) to agents, authorities said. She was jailed under $15,000 bond.
• Terrie Irene Vorrosso, 45, Salisbury, was charged with trafficking opium/heroin, possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance, and maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for the sale or delivery of a controlled substance. She sold 52 units of hydrocodone to agents, authorities said. She was jailed under $15,000 bond.
