Motorcyclist in critical condition after Wendover wreck

Police said driver of car was impaired when she crossed double yellow line and struck two motorcycles

A motorcyclist was in critical condition Tuesday after police said an impaired motorist crossed a double yellow line on South Wendover Road and struck his and another motorcycle.

Eric Allen Hudspeth, 24, was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after the motorcycles were struck by a 2010 Honda Civic in the 1400 block shortly after 2:30 p.m., police said.

The other motorcyclist, Daniel Leahy Hagemeyer, also 24, was treated and released at the scene, police said.

The driver of the car, Beverly Jean Boseman, 51, was hospitalized with minor injuries. Police charged her with driving while impaired. Police also obtained warrants charging her with felony serious injury by vehicle, driving while license revoked and reckless driving.

The motorcyclists took evasive action and laid their motorcycles down on their sides, sliding on the asphalt, police said. The Honda struck both motorcycles. Speed wasn’t a factor, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 or police at 704-432-2169.
