Rowan County authorities are looking for two Salisbury men in connection with a home invasion during which the victims’ dog was shot to death.
The Sheriff’s Office said three people were involved in the crime, and they have been able to identify two suspects so far.
Those men are identified as Jalen Lamont Cook, 20, and Gabriel Jamar Brown, 23. Warrants have been obtained against them for first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and felony cruelty to animals.
Deputies said the incident took place about 11 p.m. May 24 at a home in the 200 block of Mendenhall Drive, in southeast Rowan County about two miles northwest of Rockwell.

The victims said two men came to the door, but a female resident told them to leave because she didn’t know them, deputies said. The two men, joined by another man, then forced their way into the home and produced handguns, investigators said.
Several shots were fired, including one that killed the victims’ dog, Sasha. Investigators said the three men took several items, including a TV. Deputies said three people lived at the home, but none of them were injured.
