Police ask for public’s help in Garinger High School robbery case

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public’s help identifying the two suspects in a robbery at an east Charlotte high school last week.

About 1 p.m. Thursday, two suspects approached the victim, who was at Garinger High School, at 1100 Eastway Drive. The victim said the first suspect had a silver revolver in his waistband and took his cellphone. Then the suspects ran away. The victim was not injured, police said.

The first suspect was described as a 6-foot black man in his late teens, with a thin build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and tan pants. The second suspect was described as a 5-foot-8 black man in his late teens, with a thin build and long dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and light-colored shorts, according to police.

Anyone with information about the case or the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
