Authorities say they have located a missing 74-year-old woman with dementia and her 5-year-old grandson, who both went missing on Monday.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office said Mary Ann Yoder and Dustin were both located safe. Searchers didn’t release details about where they found the pair.

Yoder, who has dementia, usually stayed with Dustin at his home on Elk Shoals Church Loop in Stony Point before he went to school.

But on Monday, Dustin and Yoder never showed up at Stony Point Elementary. School officials called authorities, who issued a silver alert, asking the public to be on the lookout for Dustin, Yoder, her tan Toyota 4-Runner and possibly a small brown dog.
