A Lenoir motel manager and another man face several drug-related charges after a police search Tuesday.

Lenoir police said complaints from the public led officers to the Day’s Inn, in the 200 block of Blowing Rock Boulevard. The manager of that motel, 40-year-old Urmil Patel, and 30-year-old Jerry Lindsey, were arrested in the case.

Police said they got a warrant to search Room 116, and investigators said that as detectives approached the room, they saw Patel leaving. Inside the room, police said, they found 7 grams of crack cocaine, 12 grams of marijuana, nine Oxycodone pills and $2,000 cash.

Investigators said they believe Lindsey was renting the room as a place to sell drugs, and that Patel also was involved in the operation. Lindsey was arrested by police later in the day at another location.

Each man has been charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute cocaine; maintaining a dwelling to sell or distribute drugs; trafficking heroin or opium by possession; and possession of marijuana.
