Cab driver robbed at gunpoint

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police charged have two people after a cab driver was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.
Police responded to a call at around 3 a.m. Tuesday about a victim shot during an armed robbery at the 3200 block of Monroe Road.
A driver for Diamond Cab Company was called to pick up a woman, who then exited the cab without paying her fare. A man in a vehicle nearby then attempted to rob the driver, and shot the driver when he tried to flee. The man and woman then fled the scene in the vehicle.
The driver was brought to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman was later identified as Ericka Jones. Jones voluntarily went to police headquarters to be interviewed and was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon. Jones was brought to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The man was identified as Marquis Moise, who was later arrested and charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Moise is in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
