A man was arrested in Wrightsville Beach Thursday after his ex-wife’s’ body was found in a Spencer neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Rodney Roberto Wallace, 47, was arrested without incident Thursday morning.

Wallace was sitting with a woman across the street from the police station in his car when she got out of the car and started screaming she was with a murderer, authorities said. Wallace was then arrested by Wrightsville police.

Wallace’s ex-wife, Toney Ann Johnson, was found around 7 a.m. Wednesday between two homes on the 700 block of 4th Street in Spencer, Spencer police said. Police then began searching for Wallace.
