Police seek 2 men in west Charlotte store robbery

Detectives are looking for two men who allegedly robbed a west Charlotte neighborhood grocery store at gunpoint Thursday evening.

The robbery was reported shortly before 7 p.m. at Tru Food Mart, in the 2500 block of Westerly Hills Drive. An employee said two men entered the store, and one man demanded items at gunpoint.

Police said the suspects took several cartons of cigarettes and ran off. The employee was not injured.

One suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 with a medium build and beard. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and khaki pants. The second suspect was a black male, about 5 feet 10 with a medium build, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black jeans and a Panthers hat.
