CMPD investigating death in northeast Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating the death of a male in the 1300 block of N. Tryon Street in northeast Charlotte.
Police received a call for service at 9:47 a.m. on Sunday. The 911caller said they found a male lying in a drainage area near a path that is used by the transient population.
Medic responded and pronounced him dead. The victim's identity will be released pending family notification.
Detectives are canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. The investigation is in its early stages.
