Hickory man sentenced in attempted child rape

A Hickory man was convicted of felony attempted statutory rape of a child on Monday and was sentenced to least eight years in prison. Mark Vue, 23, also was ordered to register with the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry for 30 years upon his release from prison, authorities said. The crime occurred in November 2012 and involved a victim who was under the age of 14. Joe Marusak
