The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says its agents seized the largest amount of illegal prescription drugs in county law enforcement history during a traffic stop Thursday morning.
Terry Lee Graham, 54, of Lincolnton, faces four felony charges following the action by detectives.
Armed with a tip that a suspect would be driving on N.C. 150 East with a large quantity of prescription drugs, 1st Sgt. Allen Manns spotted the vehicle and stopped it about 10:45 a.m. on Jenkins Road.
Detectives arrived and got permission to search the vehicle, reporting they found 454 methadone pills and 1,453 Xanax pills. An additional 400 pills were found in the car, and detectives said they also seized a handgun.

Authorities said Graham was charged with two counts of trafficking in opium and heroin; one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance; and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. He was jailed and later released under $115,000 bond.
The Sheriff’s Office said residents who want to report drug activity can call the Drug Tip Line, at 704-736-8422.
