Man killed in northwest Charlotte shooting

Police said Antoine Beyers, 38, died of wounds suffered Sunday evening in northwest Charlotte.

Police are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed Sunday evening in northwest Charlotte.

The shooting was drug-related, police said, and they said the victim and shooter knew one another.

The shooting was reported about 11 p.m. in the 2100 block of Lincoln Heights Court. That is north of LaSalle Street, just west of Interstate 77.

Officers said they found a man inside a home with a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Antoine Beyers, 38, died after Medic rushed him to Carolinas Medical Center.

Detectives spent several hours overnight going through the neighborhood, searching for possible witnesses.
