Lincoln man, on probation for drugs, arrested again

Thomas Harrison Andrew Ford, 34, and Megan Ann Cooke, 25, were taken into custody after authorities searched their residence in the 2200 block of Drive Inn Road near Lincolnton. Methamphetamine and marijuana were found, authorities said.

A Lincoln County man who already was on probation for a drug conviction was arrested Monday after authorities said they found methamphetamine and marijuana in his residence.

Arrested with Thomas Harrison Andrew Ford, 34, was Megan Ann Cooke, 25. They were taken into custody after detectives and probation officers searched their residence in the 2200 block of Drive Inn Road near Lincolnton.

Investigators said many offenders on probation or parole are subject to warrantless searches. That’s what happened about 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ford’s residence.

Authorities said they found three bags of methamphetamine in a box under a bed. They also reported finding a Mason jar containing several bags of marijuana. The jar was wrapped in a shirt on the bed, detectives said.

Ford was charged with probation violation; trafficking in opium or heroin; and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance. He was jailed without bond. North Carolina court records show Ford was convicted in August 2012 of a drug possession charge and sentenced to 2 1/2 years of probation.

Cooke was charge with trafficking methamphetamine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance; and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. She was jailed under $60,000 bond.
