An 18-year-old from Kannapolis has been accused of having sex with a child, according to the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office.

Christian Blake Arnette was arrested Sunday, deputies said. He was charged with statutory rape of a child under the age of 13 and indecent liberties with a child, authorities said.

Investigators said they were contacted June 10 about a possible rape in the western part of Stanly County. After an investigation and several interviews, deputies said they obtained warrants for Arnette.

Deputies said Arnette was jailed in Cabarrus County under $21,000 bond and has an initial court appearance in Stanly County scheduled for Monday.
