One man is dead after being shot during an argument Tuesday night in north Charlotte, police say.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police identified the victim as David Lee Shaw, 45.
The man who allegedly shot him has been questioned by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives, investigators said. The district attorney’s office will decide whether charges are filed in the case, according to authorities.
Police said they were called shortly before 10 p.m. to the 6600 block of Rumple Road after a reported shooting. That is in the Derita community, near Mineral Springs Road and the Graham Street Extension.
When officers arrived, they did not find a shooting victim. But they set up a perimeter in the area, and officers spotted a person coming out of the woods a short time later.
About the same time, a shooting victim was brought to Carolinas Medical Center-University by a friend. That shooting victim died at the hospital, police said.
Police said the shooting was not a case of random violence. Rather, they said, it stemmed from some type of disagreement.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call detectives at 704-432-TIPS or leave the information with Crime Stoppers, 704-334-1600.
