Suspect sought in west Charlotte killing

Police were trying to identify the suspect in a fatal shooting early Sunday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at 4:23 a.m. in the 4300 block of Major Street, near Tuckaseegee Park.
Rashad Kareem Porter, 27, of Charlotte was found lying in the road with an apparent gunshot wound. Porter was pronounced dead on the scene.
No one has been charged. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood Sunday to determine what happened.
