Lincoln County authorities say a tip from the public led them to arrest a Lincolnton man on drug charges this week.
The sheriff’s office said Dershae Mylantus Blackburn, 24, was arrested after deputies found cocaine in his vehicle. Investigators said they had been watching Blackburn after receiving a tip that the suspect planned to pick up cocaine from a supplier.
Detectives said they watched Blackburn meet with the other person, then get into his vehicle to return home. Detectives said they determined Blackburn did not have a valid driver’s license, so they stopped his vehicle. Authorities reported finding a quarter-ounce of cocaine in the vehicle.
Blackburn was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while license revoked. He was released on a $9,000 bond, deputies said.
