Stanly County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two people in connection with the theft of a tractor and scrap metal, authorities said.
Investigators said Heather Jean Stacey, 40, and Christopher Andrew Talero, 27, each of Mount Gilead in Montgomery County, were arrested last Friday. Stacey was charged with three counts of felony larceny and Talero with two counts.
Deputies said they were contacted July 10 about the alleged theft. The items were found at a metal recycling facility in Stanly County, and detectives said they traced the theft to the suspects.
Stacey and Talero are scheduled to make their first court appearances Monday in Albemarle.
