A Mint Hill man accused of a January 2013 fatal shooting has been acquitted of murder, prosecutors say. Brenton Samuels, 20, had been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Monte Gay. Gay, 21, of Charlotte, was shot near Farm Pond Lane and Albemarle Road. Prosecutors said the other man charged in the case,Terrence Parker of Charlotte, pleaded guilty in April to second-degree murder. Authorities had accused Parker, 20, of being the trigger man.
