The family of a 35-year-old Army veteran who was shot to death in west Charlotte on Monday night is raising money for her funeral expenses.
The shooting happened during an argument in a vehicle about 7 p.m. in the 2700 block of Columbus Circle, police said.
Felicia Amanda Clinkscales died of an apparent gunshot wound, after her boyfriend drove her to a hospital emergency room, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Police arrested Eric Bernard Sloan Jr., 18, Tuesday and charged him with murder. Investigators haven’t said how Sloan knew the victim or what the argument involved.
Jasmine Clinkscales, the victim’s sister, told the Observer on Wednesday that the family wants to give Felicia a proper burial in Michigan, where she was from.
Donations can be made at www.gofundme.com/cnpd4w.
The donation page is named “Justice for Felicia.”
Anyone with information in the shooting is asked to call 704-432-TIPS (8477) and speak to a homicide unit detective or call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
