A Raleigh man is facing charges of child rape and taking indecent liberties with a girl who was under 13 from 2002 through 2004.
Rafael Jahuey Cazuela, 34, was arrested Monday night after detectives who investigate sex crimes brought him to their downtown Raleigh office.
In an arrest warrant, Cazuela has an address on Rolling Green Court, but he gave booking officers at the Wake County Detention Center an address of 5111 New Hope Road.
The warrants charges one count of each offense and says they happened between Jan. 1, 2002, and Dec. 31, 2004.
Cazuela was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail for a court appearance Tuesday, and federal immigration officials asked that he be held for 48 hours while they check his immigration status.
Cazuela is a Mexican native, officials said.
