A Rock Hill woman was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence after she allegedly attacked her husband because she didn’t like how her dinner was prepared on Tuesday evening.
The husband told police Norma Allen, 49, became upset that he overcooked her steak, according to a Rock Hill police report. They argued, then Allen began hitting him and choking him. The husband said he pushed Allen on the floor and held her down to get her to stop attacking him, but she got away and ran out of the apartment.
The husband had scratches on his neck and chest.
Allen told police her husband assaulted her after she mentioned her steak was overcooked. Allen had difficulty giving officers more information and didn’t have any visible injuries.
Police first responded to the apartment on Beckham Lane after a report of a woman banging on a door, screaming for help, according to a Rock Hill police report. The woman, Allen, then called police and told them her husband had a gun, then called again to say he wasn’t actually armed.
When police arrived, they found the man and Allen and searched the apartment. They didn’t find a gun but did see the fire alarm had been pulled, the report stated. Allen said she pulled it because the police weren’t coming fast enough.
When officers tried to place Allen in handcuffs, she resisted slightly and made a fist. She was issued a citation for criminal domestic violence.
