A foreclosure hearing set for this week that involved a Union County couple facing child abuse charges was called off.
There was no explanation given for the latest delay, court officials said. The case involves the Monroe-area home of former Union County social services supervisor Wanda Larson and longtime boyfriend Dorian Harper.
Last fall, an 11-year-old boy was found handcuffed to their porch with a dead chicken around his neck. Larson was the boy’s guardian.
The hearing that was delayed, where the couple could have faced possible foreclosure, was over a $124,000 note from Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp. now held by government-sponsored mortgage giant Fannie Mae. Adam Bell
