Authorities say a person of interest in a Florida shooting that left two people dead and one injured may be in Charlotte, where his brother was arrested earlier this month.

U.S. Marshals and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are trying to find Nicholas Lopez, 35.

Lopez’s brother, David, was arrested in Charlotte on August 9 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.

Lopez, who is 5’8” and 190 pounds, has relatives in the Charlotte area, although authorities believe he could also be in the Orlando area.

Around 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 5, a woman called police to the Misty Oaks Apartment in Orange County Florida. She told police she’d been shot, and directed them to an apartment where they found a man and another woman dead of gunshot wounds.

The woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but ultimately released.

David Lopez was arrested four days later.

Anyone with information on Nicholas Lopez’s whereabouts is encouraged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
