A Statesville man has been accused of sending “inappropriate” messages and photos to an underage girl, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Erik Paul Collins, 42, on Wednesday afternoon at the suspect’s home in Bancroft Lane. Authorities said Collins has been charged with felony indecent liberties with a child and disseminating obscenity to minors under the age of 13.

Investigators said the suspect is known by the victim’s family. They allege Collins sent the messages and photos to an 11-year-old girl this month.

The suspect was jailed under $125,000 bond.
