Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives said it appears as if an argument among two men led to a fatal shooting Saturday morning in northwest Charlotte.
Police identified the victim as Darien Marquis Hoskins, 28, of Charlotte. Investigators said the shooting was reported shortly before 11 a.m. in the 4300 block of Hovis Road, a short distance west of Hoskins Road.
Officers said they arrived to find a male gunshot victim inside a car. The man died at the scene, according to Medic.
Detectives said they believe an altercation earlier Saturday morning between the two men led to the shooting. They said it did not appear to be an act of random violence.
