A Charlotte teenager was arrested after police say she and another woman robbed one of the stores at Charlotte Premium Outlets last week.
Ruby Christina Charleston, 19, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and with conspiracy after being arrested just before 5 p.m. Monday.
She was in Mecklenburg County jail under a $60,000 bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
The robbery happened at 2:20 p.m. Thursday at the Zumiez factory store, which sells clothing aimed at teens and young adults.
Two women entered the store, grabbed clothes and headed for the exit, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. A witness told WCNC-TV that the women were piling clothes on top of a baby’s stroller that had a 1- or 2-month-old infant inside.
When confronted by the manager, “one of the subjects brandished a firearm and threatened the manager,” according to police. The women fled on foot.
An investigation ensued, and police say they received information linking Charleston to the robbery.
Before the arrest, police asked members of the public to be on the lookout for Charleston.
