A 38-year-old Statesville woman has been accused by police of stabbing a man during an altercation, authorities said.
Jennifer Nicole Sharpe was arrested late Wednesday night outside a residence in the 200 block of East Bell Street, according to Statesville police. The victim was a 41-year-old man, police said.
Officers said they were called shortly after 10 p.m. about a stabbing. Police found the victim unresponsive, sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The man had a stab wound in the right side of his body, police said.
The victim was taken by Iredell County EMS to Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville and then transferred to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Investigators allege the man and woman got into an argument inside the home and said the woman stabbed the man. Police said Sharpe helped the man to the vehicle before police were called.
Sharpe was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. She was jailed under $25,000 bond.
