A man sought by Mooresville police for 11 years on drug trafficking charges was arrested Thursday night in south Florida by federal marshals, authorities say.
Richard Michael Duncan, 43, was taken into custody by marshals in West Palm Beach, Fla., according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Investigators said Duncan was sought by Mooresville police on a number of narcotics charges, dating back to 2003. Marshals from North Carolina and Florida said they received information that Duncan might be living in the West Palm Beach area.
He was located Thursday night and initially told marshals he was Marcus Bell, authorities said. But marshals said they determined that Bell actually was Duncan, and he was arrested. A previous arrest on traffic charges in the Palm Beach area helped marshals identify Duncan, authorities said.

Duncan is jailed in Palm Beach County, awaiting extradition proceedings.
