Mooresville-based Lowe’s Inc. said Tuesday that it has hired Bill McCanless as its general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer, starting in January.
McCanless had formerly worked at Lowe’s from 2003 to 2006, then at Charlotte-based hotel operator Extended Stay America. At Lowe’s, he’ll be replacing Gaither Keener, who is retiring after 30 years with the company.
“We are pleased to welcome Bill back to Lowe’s,” said Robert Niblock, Lowe’s CEO, in a statement. “His combined legal and retail executive management experience is a great asset, and he already knows our company and culture well, having worked previously with many on our leadership team. We look forward to his return.”
Lowe’s is set to report its quarterly earnings Wednesday morning.
