Charlotte-Mecklenburg police on Wednesday released surveillance pictures of a suspect in the Jan. 13 pepper-spraying of a dog that was in a vehicle at the 7-11 gas station at 12710 S. Tryon St.
About 2:15 p.m., police said, a man approached the vehicle and sprayed pepper spray through a small opening in the window. The spray caused pain and irritation to the dog but no permanent injury, police said.
The suspect is described as 40 years old, black, about 6-foot-2 and of average build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and a blue shirt. The suspect is believed to have driven a dark blue minivan.
