Membership in the Mooresville Youth Advisory Council has grown to 28 from 12 at the end of last year.

The council consists of teens from Mooresville, Lake Norman and South Iredell high schools and Pine Lake Preparatory. Its recent community efforts include collecting shoes for Samaritan's Feet, volunteering at the Mooresville Pumpkin Run 8K Road Race and participating in the Day of Caring.

Council officers include President Katie James, Vice President Samantha Buckshon and Secretary Livi Guglielmi, all 16. The council isn't taking new members right now but will open the application process at the end of the school year.
