12 more Charlotte-area students get Merit Scholarships

National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced 12 more Charlotte-area winners of $2,500 scholarships. The designees were chosen from among more than 15,000 finalists judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

National Merit Scholarship Corp. announced 12 more Charlotte-area winners of $2,500 scholarships. The designees were chosen from among more than 15,000 finalists judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Winners from Charlotte are Sumner Dudick, Charlotte Catholic; Sarah Sinai Fellman, Providence High; Emily Ho, Charlotte Latin; Alex Sherman, homeschooled; and Kavirath Jain, Margaret Pan and Parth Thakker, North Carolina School of Science & Mathematics. Other area winners from that N.C. school are Zachary Polizzi, Weddington; Urvi Sinha, Pineville; Holly Slang, Mooresville; and Julia Yu, Waxhaw. Riley League of Rock Hill’s Northwestern High also won.
