Sabrina Collias, a junior at Myers Park High, is the winner of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition after being runner-up last year.
Her entry this year – a watercolor titled “Dynamic Duo” – was judged best entry by Rep. Robert Pittenger, R-N.C., his staff, and an expert from the Art Institute of Charlotte.
Sabrina’s work will be displayed in a busy corridor of the U.S. Capitol for one year. She’ll also receive a scholarship offer from Savannah College of Art and Design; a full scholarship to a summer art studio program at the Art Institute of Charlotte; and two complimentary airline tickets to go to Washington and attend a reception in her honor.
Runners-up Elaina Cloninger of Charlotte Christian and Katie Zhao of Ardrey Kell High will receive full scholarships to the summer art studio program.
