Black ice was a threat on Charlotte area roads early Friday. But with temperatures expected to rise to 42 degrees, the ice and snow will continue to melt.
Snow totals in the Charlotte area ranged from about 1 to 4 inches, far less than the 8 to 10 inches that at one time was expected for part of the area overnight Wednesday.
Saturday should be mostly cloudy, with a high of 37.
There is a chance of rain or freezing rain early Sunday. Meteorologists expect the area could see rain after daybreak and throughout the day and into Sunday night.
There also is a chance of rain Monday through Thursday of next week.
