Linebacker James Anderson majored in studio art at Virginia Tech:
1 How did you get interested in art? "When I was a kid, I used to take comic books and cartoons and trace them. I figured out how to make my fingers do what my eyes saw. Then I'd doodle here and there. I got into the art program in college and took it from there.
2 What is the most meaningful piece that you have painted? "I did a piece commemorating 9-11. It was in a coffee shop in Fort Mill for a while, then it got circulated around. I put it in for a foundation that works for kids. I'd like for it to either go in a museum or get it donated."
3 Do you get to paint often? "It's tough to find time during football season. But it's something that's relaxing to do. It'll be part of what I do for a long time. You hear about the 'starving artist.' Well, this profession allows me to be a 'well-fed artist!"
