The Panthers placed receiver/returner Ryne Robinson on injured reserve on Wednesday. Robinson, who injured his knee in training camp, hadn't played yet this season.
The move means second-year receiver Dwayne Jarrett will likely be active for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Jarrett has been inactive for the past three games.
The Panthers signed former Butler High and Wake Forest standout Kenneth Moore to take Robinson's spot on the roster. Moore was taken in the fifth round of last spring's NFL draft by the Detroit LIons and had been on the team's practice squad.
Missing practice Wednesday were: T Jordan Gross (concussion), R D.J. Hackett (knee), C Ryan Kalil (ankle), T Jeff Otah (ankle), S Quinton Teale (ankle), DT Darwin Walker (thigh).
Backup QB Matt Moore, who broke his leg in the final preseason game against Pittsburgh, returned to practice for the first time since then. -- David Scott
