Sen. Barack Obama will be in uptown Charlotte for a rally on Sunday, the campaign announced Thursday.

The visit marks the Democratic presidential nominee’s first return to Charlotte since May. It’s also the third visit in a week by a top campaign representative. Michelle Obama was in town on Thursday and vice-presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware visited on Sunday.

This Sunday’s rally is set for 1 p.m. at East Fourth and Davidson streets. Gates open at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public, but an RSVP is encouraged. Sign up at http://nc.barackobama.com/charlottechange
