In the summer of 2009, media organizations involved with Charlotte Mission Possible invited citizens to submit fresh ideas to help meet Charlotte's charitable needs. Several hundred people took up the challenge.

Adults aren't the only ones reaching out to help the community. Local kids also are involved in charitable activities.

Despite worries about Banktown's weakening grip on its two largest banks, nonprofits are still reaping the benefits of their philanthropic giving.
