High school sports scores for January 24th.

After Friday night’s 69-58 victory against visiting Rocky River, the Myers Park girls are 7-0 against teams currently ranked in the Observer Sweet 16. No. 1 Myers Park has won those seven games by an average of 24 points.

Brown, a former Carolina Panther, was 31-18 and led the Kings to three straight N.C. Independent Schools championship games, winning state titles in 2012 and 2014. When Victory Christian beat SouthLake Christian 26-21 in 2012, it was the school’s first state title.

Alec Wintering, Portland University: Former United Faith and All-Observer star was No. 2 on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 countdown for buzzer-beating 3-point shot to beat Pacific 72-69 Thursday.

Hough won the boys’ title for the fifth straight year while the girls took their fourth straight on Friday at Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics.
