Q:We are hoping to relocate to Denver, NC within the next 12-18 months. I want to know if there is a way to reduce the cost of a move if my move date can be coordinated with a truck that you may have in my current area, so that it does not return empty. Also, interested to know rates to move 3 rooms + garage boxes & patio furniture.
A: Michele, Thanks for contacting us regarding your possible move to the Denver, NC area. Let me be the first to welcome you to Charlotte. Small moves going that distance are consolidated with other moves to make sure they are cost effective. We charge by weight for interstate moves. It sounds like you may have between 4,000 lbs and 5,000 lbs of furniture. On average you are looking at between $4,000 & 5,000 to do this move. Please send an email list of items to us at info@easymovers.com. We will get right back to you with an accurate quote. Your wish is our command! Q:I am planning to move less than 2 miles from my current location. I plan on doing the packing myself; in the past I found that moving companies required that they did the packing, is that your policy as well? Also, how would I obtain an estimate from you? The move will take place mid February. Thank you in advance for your time.
A: Kitty, Thanks contacting Easy Movers Inc for an estimate. It is not mandatory that we do the packing. We can pack everything or just items that are hard to pack such as your fine china, artwork, mirrors & pictures and etc. If you would like packing materials delivered we can deliver them to you as well, delivery is free in Charlotte. Our prices are very reasonable! Please contact our office and request a free onsite survey. This will allow us to estimate the move accurately. We do have availability in February at this time. We do offer storage as well so if you need some items stored temporarily let us know. Easy Movers recently won the Angies List 2008 Super Service Award & the Charlotte Magazine 2008 BOB Award, "Best of the Best" in Charlotte as voted on by the readers of the Charlotte Magazine. Thanks again for contacting us-your wish is our command! Just let us know. Sincerely, Don Reid, Owner 704-588-6868

Q:As you can see we live in Locust. Are we charged more because you have to come out into the country side? Do you ever charge by the hour if we are moving local? Thanks in advance.
A: Charles, Thank you for asking. We do not charge anything extra to come to Locust, over and above what we charge locally in Charlotte. We charge one hour of travel, called a travel fee, which is similar to a plumer's service charge for coming out. The North Carolina Utilities Commission regulates how movers can charge in NC. All moves within 35 miles from origin to destination can only be done by the hour plus the travel fee. Let's say you have us move four rooms, you are looking at 2 men for 4 hrs (average) plus the travel fee to get it done. Please call our office at 704-588-6868 or email us at info@easymovers.com for rates as rates vary depending on season (peak or non-peak). FYI, moves over 35 miles from origin to destination are regulated by the state and movers can only charge by weight (or use weight and miles as a basis for charging). Thanks for asking. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Sincerely, Don Reid, Owner 704-588-6868
