Helen Schwab has reviewed restaurants for the Observer since before Charlotte had Thai food or tiramisu -- 1988, to be specific. An '82 graduate of Northwestern University in journalism, she came to the Observer as a sports copy editor and has written headlines; covered horse shows; designed pages in sports, news and features; supervised reporters; interviewed nearly naked NFL players; eaten pig ears; and bled all over the floor of a Johnson & Wales classroom.
