Bulldogs play the first of two season-opening games against South Carolina teams – Gamecocks are Sept. 13 in Columbia.
Observations• It’s a big opening weekend for the SEC. Another huge game is in Baton Rouge, where No. 14 is host to No. 15 Wisconsin.
• Florida’s Will Muschamp is likely coaching for his job this season after going 4-8 last season. The Gators are going against Idaho on Saturday.
• Alabama coach Nick Saban likes both of his quarterbacks – Florida State-transfer Jacob Coker and Blake Sims – and didn’t decide on making Sims the starter until Friday.
