N.C. State will wear black uniforms to match its new black helmets for Saturday's game against Old Dominion.
Wolfpack coach Dave Doeren unveiled the new threads to his players Sunday afternoon. N.C. State made a splash earlier in the summer when it came out with the design for its alternate black helmet with wolf eyes on the back.
N.C. State's football team has worn black jerseys, with pink trim for breast cancer awareness, but as a third option to the usual home reds and road whites.
The new black jerseys have red streaks on the shoulders and the white numbers are trimmed in red.
Never miss a local story.
The Wolfpack wore four different helmets last season but hasn't really dabbled with different color variations. Doeren has said in the past that fans have expressed to him that they prefer the red and white but uniform variations have become popular with recruits.
