Misfiring continues for Pack
Outside shooting figured to be a weakness for this N.C. State team, and the problem has plagued the Wolfpack (14-11, 2-8 ACC) during its current five-game ACC losing streak. State hasn't shot 40 percent in any of its past five games and shot a season-low 28.6 percent (20-of-70) in Wednesday's home loss to Virginia Tech.
In guards Scott Wood, Farnold Degand and Javier Gonzalez and forward Dennis Horner, N.C. State has some options on the outside, notably Wood, who made seven 3-pointers against Florida State on Jan. 12. But no one from the group of primary shooters has been effective from outside since Gonzalez went 3-of-4 from 3-point range against UNC on Jan. 26.
