Zeller due to give Heels boost
Here's one reason North Carolina fans still can hope the Tar Heels might improve over their last five regular-season games: Reserve forward Tyler Zeller, who has been sidelined for 10 games because of a stress fracture in his right foot, will return to play against Boston College today.
"I'm hoping we can get him in and get some productive minutes out of him," coach Roy Williams said Friday. "That with each and every game, he can build on it. But it's hard; he's been out for 10 or 11 games ... so it's been quite a while. But we're going to give him a chance to see what he can do when he does get in there."
Never miss a local story.
The Tar Heels have won only two games without the sophomore, who was averaging 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 16.3 minutes before his injury. His return is particularly key with Ed Davis likely out the rest of the season with a broken left wrist and Travis Wear still sidelined with a sprained ankle.
