There’ll be parties, seminars, hands-on activities, cooking demonstrations and all sorts of other events this week during the CIAA tournament in Charlotte, but Tuesday’s activities will focus on basketball.
The social calendar is light on Tuesday, but there will be tournament basketball from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena.
The schedule includes back-to-back appearances by the women’s and men’s teams from Johnson C. Smith University. The women face Chowan University at 5 p.m., followed by the Golden Bulls’ men’s game at 7:20 against Virginia Union University.
People who work uptown or visit Charlotte’s center city this week are reminded that there will be extra foot and vehicle traffic, especially around the arena.
Charlotte Area Transit System says its Gold Rush Red Line will expand its usual Johnson C. Smith-to-CPCC route between 6 and 11 p.m. Tuesday to include service on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and McDowell Street, near the Hilton Garden Inn and the Sheraton Hotel.
