Bo Bae Song fired a seven-under 65 on Saturday to take a one-shot lead over fellow South Korean In-Kyung Kim and Japan's Akane Iijima through two rounds of the Mizuno Classic.
Chasing her first LPGA Tour win, Song birdied the 18th hole to finish two trips around the Kintetsu Kashikojima course at 11-under 133.
Iijima shot a 64 and Kim had a 65 to share second place at 10-under 134.
Rui Kitada (66) was fourth at nine-under 135, while defending champion Jiyai Shin (67) and fellow top-10 golfer Ai Miyazato (67) led an eight-way tie at 136.
First-round leader Brittany Lang shot a 70 and was also at 136.
Top-ranked Lorena Ochoa had a 69 and was tied for 29th place at four-under 140 in a group that included 2006 winner Karrie Webb (70).
